Alpine Hiking College

If you are fascinated by the alpine environment, enjoy the crystal clear lakes, the magical mountain world and the wild and untamed peaks, I can teach you how to plan and execute hiking tours in the alpine environment safely on your own or lead a group.

You will learn group dynamics, field orientation, safety and rescue procedures, hiking at night, structured training, performance nutrition, mountain weather, equipment technology and hiking with children.

Tour planning is a carefully calculated procedure that leaves nothing
to luck and wishful thinking.

The course is a five day excursion in the Bad Aussee region near Salzburg, Austria, at an altitude of about 5,000 feet. It teaches you how to take a group of loved ones or friends on a successful hiking adventure. The emphasis of this course is for you to understand the risks and challenges and to learn land navigation so you know where you are at all times.
space
The instructions are conducted in a small group environment, mostly outdoors with topographic maps, compass, altimeter and GPS.
space
Accommodations are in rustic, but charming mountain huts with dorm style rooms with all meals are included.

WHERE

The meeting place for the group will be at the Hauptbahnhof (Central Train Station in Salzburg). This is the chosen location because it is accessible by any means of transportation from most European and International destinations.
